World’s tallest man Sultan Kösen seeks love and a big car

When you are the tallest man in the world, some family chores are easier than others. “They use my height to change light bulbs and hang curtains,” Sultan Kösen explained.

At 8ft 1in (2.5m), however, popping out to the shops is a little harder. “I can’t fit in a normal car,” Mr Kösen said. “I can’t go shopping like normal people. I have to get clothes made specially and I don’t always get what’s fashionable. And going through doors I always have to bend down.”

But, newly crowned by Guinness World Records as the tallest man in the world, Mr Kösen, from Mardin in southeast Turkey, is hoping that life will become a little easier. “The first thing I want is a car I can fit into,” he said. “More than that, I want to get married. It’s really difficult to find a girlfriend. They are usually scared of me.”

Can Windows 7 run on a 1.73GHz and 512MB computer?

Just finished installing Windows 7 Release Candidate (will expires on June 1, 2010), everything went smooth.. Have it activated using the FREE product key given by Microsoft (If you’ve got the Win7 RC DVD and need a product key, they’ll be available until October 21, 2009).

Surprisingly, Windows 7 works well on my 1.73GHz and 512MB computer. Speed is good, no difference as when I am using XP. That's all for now, may be more posts on Windows 7 coming up? Hmmm.. =)

Pigeon Still Faster Than Broadband

Broadband promised to unite the world with super-fast data delivery - but in South Africa it seems the web is still no faster than a humble pigeon.

A Durban IT company pitted an 11-month-old bird armed with a 4GB memory stick against the ADSL service from the country's biggest web firm, Telkom.

Winston the pigeon took two hours to carry the data 60 miles - in the same time the ADSL had sent 4% of the data.

Men with long fingers drive faster

Men with long ring fingers are more likely to drive too fast, overtake on dangerous roads and park illegally, according to new research.

The study suggests bad driving may be programmed from birth because finger length is directly associated with exposure to the hormone testosterone in the womb.

Numerous studies have shown that a long wedding ring finger compared to the index finger in men can have a powerful effect on health and behaviour.

Research suggests it is linked with increased male aggression and risk-taking.

But it also means men are better at sports such as athletics and football, more likely to succeed in the cut-throat world of high finance and may even be more fertile than those with shorter ring fingers.

Scientists believe exposure to greater levels of testosterone in the womb affects the way the brain works later in life.

The hormone appears to promote more masculine behaviour.

But it also seems to activate growth of the wedding ring finger by stimulating testosterone receptors in bone.

In the latest study, researchers at the University of Mainz, in Germany, recruited 77 male drivers at an average age of 38.

Men lose their minds speaking to pretty women

Talking to an attractive woman really can make a man lose his mind, according to a new study.

The research shows men who spend even a few minutes in the company of an attractive woman perform less well in tests designed to measure brain function than those who chat to someone they do not find attractive.

Researchers who carried out the study, published in the Journal of Experimental and Social Psychology, think the reason may be that men use up so much of their brain function or 'cognitive resources' trying to impress beautiful women, they have little left for other tasks.
The findings have implications for the performance of men who flirt with women in the workplace, or even exam results in mixed-sex schools.

Women, however, were not affected by chatting to a handsome man.
This may be simply because men are programmed by evolution to think more about mating opportunities.

Psychologists at Radboud University in The Netherlands carried out the study after one of them was so struck on impressing an attractive woman he had never met before, that he could not remember his address when she asked him where he lived.
